Vision systems & product security

As the technology and speed of process machinery advances, vision systems increasingly ensure the security and quality of a product by checking several points of interest at once. This allows the process to run at the highest speed possible without having to pause for inspections to be carried out.

GS Controls enjoy a unique and exclusive relationship with COGNEX, the world’s leading provider of vision systems, software, sensors, and industrial barcode readers used in manufacturing automation.

Control panel design & manufacture

We design and build control panels to customer requirements whilst conforming to all the latest International regulations. If you have already designed the control system but would like to have it built by a third party, then we can provide a build to design service.

We can supply control panels in standard sizes or have them custom built from a range of materials to exactly suit the needs of our customers. All control panels conform to the machinery directive 2006/42/EC and we also issue certificates of incorporation for CE marking. All industrial networks catered for.

Machine design & build

We have the knowledge, skills and experience to design and build machines to best suit your needs. From small off-line machines to large fully automated in-process machines, we can fulfil your requirements. All custom built machines conform to the machinery directive 2006/42/EC and we also issue certificates of conformity for CE marking.

Machine upgrades

Production machinery can often benefit from improvements to functionality and reliability. This can be achieved by simple alterations to an existing PLC program or even more extensive electrical and mechanical modifications. We can upgrade your machines on-site or at our workshop. All upgrades conform to the machinery directive 2006/42/EC.

PLC programming

PLC programming is an integral part of our operation. Most PLC systems are catered for and we use the latest techniques including distributed I/O systems such as AS-Interface, PROFIBUS or Ethernet. Our PLC programs are structured so they can be easily followed by a qualified third party.

Systems integration

Production machines can often be improved by integrating separate operations into a single process.

This can help to improve all aspects of a process from safety to productivity. This involves integrating new control systems into existing processes from bar code readers and vision systems to missing component detection and missing print detection. We issue certificates of incorporation for CE marking.

Data acquisition

Data acquisition has an integral role to play in maintaining product quality and indicating process inadequacies.

We have installed PC based data acquisition devices to record many things such as Gas Levels, Temperature and Humidity. These devices can be used to record and archive data, they can also be used to sound alarms, shut down systems and control test conditions. Most of our latest control systems either already have or are capable of data acquisition.

Lab test automation

Testing of materials in laboratory environments is a vital part of producing a high quality end product. The testing process can be very time consuming and costly so automating the process can help reduce these costs and eliminate risk of human error.

Pharmaceutical Validation

Not only are we aware of the GAMP regulations, but we also offer a validation service for existing equipment too. If a pharmaceutical company’s validation team needs assistance, we are here to help. Our services conform to the exacting standards required including GAMP5 regulations.

Batch counting

The Clini-Counter is designed for in-line batch counting. We manufacture a full range of accessories for the Clini- Counter, all of which are fully compatible with the most commonly used industry units i.e. Danelec.
